Katsina Police Confirm Death Of Sheikh Masussuka, Friend 

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of distinguished Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka, and his good friend, Adamu Abubakar, by suspected armed gunmen in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, in entrance of the Islamic scholar’s residence in Dutsin-Ma, when two armed males driving on a motorbike reportedly opened fireplace on the victims.

The police, in a press launch issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, mentioned each victims sustained deadly gunshot accidents throughout the assault.
