The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its 118-member National Campaign Council for the 2027 common election.
The NDC introduced the structure of the campaign council in an announcement on Sunday evening.
The NDC’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson will chair the campaign council, whereas the get together’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will serve as co-chairman.
The National Chairman of the NDC, Cleopas Zuwoghe, will serve as vice-chairman of the campaign council whereas the get together’s vice-presidential candidate,Rabiu Kwankwaso will serve as the co-vice chairman.
Major campaign council directorate
Ibrahim Abdulkarim, an ally of the NDC presidential candidate, Mr Obi, was appointed the director-general of the campaign council.
Mr Abdulkarim is an data communication strategist and a enterprise man from Kaduna State.
He unsuccessfully contested within the NDC’s governorship primaries in Kaduna.
The NDC’s National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, will serve as the council’s secretary.
More appointments
A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, was listed as a member of the National Campaign Caucus and chairman of the National Campaign Advisory Council.
Other members of the National Campaign Caucus embody the NDC’s Deputy National Chairman (North) Sidi Bomi Abdul and his fellow Deputy National Chairman (South) Babatunde F. Alli.
Ovie Omo-Agege, and Victor Umeh, are listed as representatives of the NDC Senate caucus.
Victor Ogene will serve as chairman NDC House of Representative Caucus whereas Muktar Usman was listed a member of the get together’s House of Representative Caucus
NDC’s National Woman Leader, Dudu Manuga, was listed as a member of the campaign council.
The NDC’s National Spokesperson, Osa Director would be the campaign council’s director of media and communication whereas Ikeddi Isiguzo will serve as the deputy director.
Constance Ikokwu will serve as the get together’s campaign spokesperson.
‘People-centred and issue-based campaign’
The NDC mentioned within the assertion that the campaign council will ship a “people-centred and issue-based campaign” forward of the elections.
“The National Campaign Council will provide strategic leadership, coordinate campaign activities across the country, and drive the mobilisation of Nigerians behind the party’s vision of a new, just, and prosperous Nigeria,” the get together mentioned.
The NDC’s campaign council might be formally inaugurated in Abuja in a while Monday (in the present day).
The NDC had recently given Messrs Obi and Kwankwaso the facility to appoint selection leaders of the get together’s now unveiled campaign council.
