The new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Peter Olamakinde Olapegba, might be inaugurated on November 2, 2026, on the University’s well-known Trenchard Hall, the place Emeritus Prof. Akin Akande will preside, whereas the outgoing VC, Prof. Ok.O. Adebowale, would be the chief host.
The inauguration lecture titled ‘The African University in a New World Order, The Imperative of Knowledge Sovereignty and Relevance’ could be delivered by Prof. Akin Ogundiran of Northwestern University, Everyton, Illinois, USA.
Until his appointment, Olapegba was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration. His analysis has led to the event of culturally related and globally accepted scales to measure constructs in social psychology, contributing to each theoretical foundations and sensible purposes.
